KING FILM Slow 12

This "Slow 12" ISO 12/12° 35mm black and white film, clearly described as a very low-sensitivity, fine-grained raw material, is a special-use, non-ordinary film.

What can it do in practice?

• Very fine grain: gives detailed, sharp images with excellent quality even at magnification.

• Very low sensitivity: ISO 12 means it's about 4-5 stops slower than ISO 400 film. Also in sunlight you need a longer shutter speed or a larger aperture.

• Excellent tonality: usually, these films give soft, rich tonal transitions that show light and dark tones beautifully.

• A relaxed, classic feel: this type of film is well suited to fine art, portrait or landscape photography.

How should it be used?

• A stand is highly recommended - even in daylight, especially if you are working with a closed compartment.
• Good lighting conditions are needed - or a willingness to take long exposures. Outside, sunny weather is ideal.
• For fine details - textures, landscapes, architecture, fine art projects - it makes excellent use of resolution.
• Lab - such low ISO films must be developed carefully; following the manufacturer's recommendations for development.

What is not ideal?

• Fast motion or event photography - too slow.

• Low light - only works if you can use long shutter speeds or artificial lighting.
