The CINESTILL 50Daylight is an ISO 50/18° daylight-balanced (5500K) colour negative motion picture film that has been converted for still photography. Built on the original Vision3 50D emulsion, this film comes prepared and rolled to be safely called up in a standard photo lab (C-41) or even at home, but can also be processed with Cs2 chemistry as a low contrast motion picture negative. It is ideal for shooting in bright light with large apertures and for high resolution, low grain images.

The exposure flexibility of film far exceeds the possibilities of digital technology and most other films. The 50D also gives beautiful results when exposed at ISO 12 to 100 without additional push dials. Whatever ISO you shoot at, graininess will be almost invisible - but the appearance of colour, contrast, shadow detail and highlights will vary depending on ISO. At lower ISOs you get warmer tones and stronger highlights.

CineStill's new, improved manufacturing process has extended the shelf life of the 50D, so there are fewer defects after expiry. The emulsion has been optimised for hybrid workflows: it is ideal for scanning and also provides excellent contrast curves for optical enlargement on RA-4 paper when called upon in the C-41 process.
