CINESTILL 50Daylight is an ISO 50\/18\u00b0 color negative film optimized for daylight (5500K) and developed for still photography. Based on the original Vision3 50D emulsion, the film is prepared and spooled for clean and safe standard photo lab processing or home Cs41 development, but can also be processed with Cs2 chemicals to produce low-contrast motion picture negatives. It is ideal for shooting in bright light with a wide aperture, as well as for producing high-resolution, low-grain images.<\/p>\n
The film\u2019s exposure range far exceeds that of digital technology and most other films. With the 50D, you can achieve beautiful results by setting the ISO between 12 and 100 without the need for push processing. No matter how you meter the exposure, grain will be virtually invisible, but color, contrast, shadow detail, and highlight rendering depend on the ISO setting you choose. If you set the exposure to a lower ISO, you\u2019ll get warmer images with more halo in the highlights.<\/p>\n
CineStill\u2019s new and improved manufacturing process extends the shelf life of the 50D, making defects less noticeable after the expiration date.<\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n Shelf Life:<\/strong> For best results, store in the refrigerator and use within 6 months of purchase. After exposure, the film must be developed immediately using the C-41 process to preserve the latent image stability and color fidelity.<\/p>\n Note:<\/strong> This emulsion was originally designed for ECN-2 film processing and can still be processed by performing all steps or using the CineStill Cs2 \u201cCine Simplified\u201d kit, which produces a high-contrast negative with a lower gamma that is not suitable for darkroom enlargements. Although there is no emulsion adhesive layer to contaminate and deplete the chemicals, C-41 processing yields higher density and gamma, which is more favorable for photographic workflows. Tests show favorable results for standard C-41 processing compared to ECN-2 film processing performed in professional labs.<\/p>\n Storage and Handling: Load and unload the film in low-light conditions. Store unexposed film in its original, sealed packaging in a refrigerator at 13 \u00b0C (55 \u00b0F) or lower. To prevent condensation from forming on film stored in the refrigerator, allow the film to warm to room temperature before opening the package. After exposure, develop the film as soon as possible.
