This “Slow 12” ISO 12\/12\u00b0 35mm black and white film<\/strong>, clearly described as a very low-sensitivity<\/strong>, fine-grained<\/strong> raw material, is a special-use, non-ordinary film.<\/p>\n

What can it do in practice?<\/h3>\n

    Very fine grain<\/strong>: gives detailed, sharp images with excellent quality even at magnification.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Very low sensitivity<\/strong>: ISO 12 means it’s about 4-5 stops slower<\/strong> than ISO 400 film. Also in sunlight you need a longer shutter speed or a larger aperture. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Excellent tonality<\/strong>: usually, these films give soft, rich tonal transitions that show light and dark tones beautifully.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    A relaxed, classic feel<\/strong>: this type of film is well suited to fine art, portrait or landscape photography.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    How should it be used?<\/h3>\n

    • A stand is highly recommended<\/strong> – even in daylight, especially if you are working with a closed compartment.<\/li>\n
    • Good lighting conditions are needed<\/strong> – or a willingness to take long exposures. Outside, sunny weather is ideal. <\/li>\n
    • For fine details<\/strong> – textures, landscapes, architecture, fine art projects – it makes excellent use of resolution.<\/li>\n
    • Lab<\/strong> – such low ISO films must be developed carefully; following the manufacturer’s recommendations for development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
